I’m very pleased with how this turned out. It took me about 3 hours to install myself. Would have been easier with an assistant. I’d consider myself a low to mid level DIYer. You’ll def want an impact driver to get those lags in.
Squaring up the top brackets is the tricky part. It will be easy if all your joists are perfect, but who lives in that house??? One of my brackets is about a quarter inch off, but I decided centered on the joist and crooked was better than off-center and straight. It still seems amazingly solid.
The only thing that wasn’t clear to me in the directions was the center brace. The first way I installed it, (sticker right side up) it interfered with the shelf. I just flipped it and it was fine. Not sure if that was right, but I’m sure it’s fine on the 6 foot version. Maybe more critical to consider on longer versions.
FWIW, I’m using the shelf to store a 140 lb roof top tent.
